@nick just becareful tires are only as good as the money you spend on them. i only spent about 50 more going with bridgestone than i would have with the shinko. after seeing my buddy get a flat on his TL1000R with a shinko from running over a rock in a driveway i quickly looked every where else.

I'm sure you meant 110/70/17 on the front.cntryboy85 wrote:...150/70/17 bt-45 on the front...

i put a 120 on the front i went 10 mil bigger on both front and rear. gave it a little more stability going down the road.

I have 3k on my shinko's. Not a single problem.

@pefrey yeah i didnt realize that i put 150 for the front as well...
. that would look awful funny and hard as hell to fit between the forks. but i put a 120 on it. kinda wish i would have went with the 110 only because i like matching tread patterns front and rear. i am happy with the way the 120 feels but they didnt offer the same patern int he 120 as i have in the rear.

The benefit of the 120 is more rotational mass producing stability via gyroscopic procession . The less mass and stability that accompanies the 110 makes it easier to change direction which is why I like it. I ran a 120 for the longest time but when I went to a 110 it felt like a whole new bike

FWIW, I have that same Shinko 006 set (110 front, 150 rear), a few thousand + a few track nights. The rear started to wear alarmingly fast initially (well, not surprised, given the roads around here), but then seemed to slow down (?). The rear was losing grip a fair bit earlier than I hoped on the track, but that's probably my rear shock being shot and me being a total noob.
Oh yeah, they were also quite well balanced from the factory - I figure that's a good sign. No weights were needed on the front, and a few on the back (even that was probably due to the rim itself).
Re: Replacing the Rear Tire... (150/70/18??)
No matter what tire I've tried I still like the way a battleax holds up. Bridgestone BT14 or BT16. For my R6,R1 or my 1800vtx I use the dunlop tires.
