88 FZR 750

Post by 88FZR750GREG »

I just bought an 88 FZR 750. The upper fairing and windshield are damaged. I'm trying to find out if the parts from owo1 will fit. Any ideas? Thanks. Greg

My guess is that it would take a significant amount of fabrication to make that work.

Please try to post in the correct forum. Not only does it keep the site tidy, but you are more likely to get a response. I'll move this thread to the 750 forum.

Also, as a courtesy, please go to the Newbie forum to introduce yourself. Don't forget to put your location in your profile.

Thanks,
Brandon

Check eBay for fairings. I see them pop up from time to time. But a front fairing from a 88 1000 might fit. The bikes were surprisingly similar. Be careful what you look for when searching for parts. Many people list items from a FZ750 for the FZR750 - these are 2 very different bikes. The FZR750 was only built for 1 year before they changed to the OW01, so parts can be a little scarce
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

+1 In fact, I think the only difference between the 1st Gen 750s & 1000s was the motor / tranny. The bodywork is more than likely the same. I would investigate that further as a potential option.

Yup. I have an extra set of plastics for my '87 FZR750 that I got off an early model FZR1000..
