Photos Needed

Post by kiki231 »

Hello Folks.
I am need of photos of stock (or almost stock) machinery.

I have a personal website, and i am in the process of writing a "History" page on the big bore yammy supersport bikes. I want to include a lot of photos, and i have asked several members already for their permission to allow me to use their shots on my site (with credits listed, of course). My history will start just before the FJ, then through the heyday of the FZR, then the YZF, and finishing with the R1.

I am looking for bikes that are primarily stock, especially in the paint, taken preferably with an SLR, or a good point and click. So if you have any good photos that are available on-line, and would mind your bike getting shown, i would love to hear form you.

thanking you all in advance.

Chris

Chris,

I am all about preservation and history, especially of the FZR. Your best bet is to scour GOOGLE Image search then ask the owner's permission to use their images.

There are also some here: http://www.fzronline.com/photos/

Below is a pic of my 1996 FZR600 Cali model - all stock except for the pipe.

Hi,
I hope that includes the bigger V4 Yamaha 2 strokes as well as bikes like the Seca. and to show where it all started for Yamaha 4 stroke division, the XS650.

Excellent Darrin- thanks-- that is perfect!
and yes-- already one step ahead of you on the photos/google. I have numerous requests out there. Hopefully all will be ok'd.

And also, for those reading, no need to post here if you dont have them, just an indication that you can direct me to your shots is great.

thanks so much!

Bought it 5 months ago as this

& now many many hours later,
Image
Flipped rear breaklight upside down & moved it all the way to the top of the frame, LED turnsignals lay on top of the brakelight. Hacked off almost half of the back end. You can see it better in other pictures

I'll get more pics up with work along the way tomorrow its 4am though! Let me know what you think so far

Decided it wasnt to late to add a few more..
Changed full block brakelight into 2 circles side by side..
Black removable headlight covers
More to come!

Ah forgot to mention. flush turn signals are being mounted in the 2 slits next to the windscreen, & then sleeker mirrors. Any other suggestions?

It looks like an FZ600 upper on your FZR... Don't think I've ever seen one like that.

Decided to add a few new pictures with how the project is coming together.
new tires new chain, repaired all plastics & used filler to shave seams between some plastics. Take a look!
Image
First day test run after cleaning engine. lower plastics still in shop

Image
Love the way it looks with no seam lines between the plastics above the rear tire

Looking for tips on what to do next! next project in mind is replacing the (foxeye?) style lights with longer rectangular black smoked chrome lights & mold them in to make it look natural.
