Ok now that you've stopped laughing...the only real way to find out is to try. Would not surprise me at this point if the needles are the same ones used for both. Seems damn near everything else is. The key, in this case, I would think is proper jet size. Steve, taking into consideration the info Brandon provided, you can more than likely get away clean and scream down the track with 400 jets and a good synch.

OK if the needles and jets all physically fit in there then yes I agree that the 400 jets would do me a better job as the engine for now is reasonably stock and will stay pretty close to it. I am no longer planning on building this engine or dumping any more cash into it than need be.
Besides if it is a 100% no go I have a set of stock 1986 carbs that I can tear down clean up and put the kit into so I am in a win win on this.
Thanks for all the help you have given me. I am pretty Carb stupid so this whole thing has been a great learning experience.
When I raced I always had a tuner wrenching on my bikes so I never really got into the whole tune the carb thing. I would come in and say its doing this or its doing that. a click on the shock her a jet change there and I was back on the track feeling the results of Johns (My tuners) handy work. Sometimes being spoiled like that has its draw backs. Nice to get a sponsored tuner right off the bat in my race career but not good for learning how to do simplest of things.
I can build and ride the sh*t out of a bike but I can not tune a carb or tear down and engine.. pitiful really.
If I may brag a bit in the below pics. Man it took like 4 hours each carb to get this clean. They were like, totally gunked up. I know I posted a few pics before but man I ma so proud of how clean I got these suckers. A clean bike is a happy bike, I guess.
Before Pics
After a total of 12 hours of cleaning - 4 hours per carb

Yeah, no kidding! How the hell did that happen? LOL! The weird thing, as I mentioned before, is that the manuals say the carbs are the same when CLEARLY they are not the same. My 400 and 600 carbs are completely different. However, they have the same throat / venturi sizes so they can be made to work. I was looking at pics of the 3ENs yesterday and I took note of how similar they were chassis and bodywork-wise to the 600s so I wouldn't be surprised either if his carbs WERE actually from a 3EN (and they possibly just happen to in fact be the same as the 600s). The 3EN2s specifically even look like the '91-'92 600s except with dual lamps instead of the single (the uppers still being the same with this exception).
Are you getting dizzy yet? LOL!

I agree 100%. Stick the 400 needles in there and start with DJ's jet size & clip position recommendation (in the PDF) and go from there. You'll be off to a good start with that I think.
BTW, awesome job on cleaning those things up!
As for having an actual mechanic to work on the bike, I'm SOOO envious of you. I'm still trying to talk Reelrazor into moving back to CA so I can "hire" him as my crew chief! LOL! Reelrazor >>>>

What do I haev and what should I get for jets?
I got a 95.5 in there right now on teh main jet the bike ran terrible with it in there.
Alsothe carbs were quite filthy so I cleaned them u pand will use the air compressor to blow out any debri.
I am sure a lot fo the issues were blocked air or fuel ways. the jets are trashed mostly all gunked up in there.
All clean now
OK Steve I have to ask what the hell did you put them in to get them that clean. Even the stuff Yamaha gave us was not that good !

Actually all I used was what is pictured for cleaning equipment.
1st spray with WD-40
brush with brass bristled brush
wipe gunk off
repeat a few times.
For stubborn goo I used that tiny little screw driver an scrapped gently until all the encrusted stuff came off. Man there are Soooo many lttle nooks and crannies!
Then I used a bit of steel wool once 100% of the goo was gone.
It was a long tedious job and like I said it was about 4 hours per carb to get them like that.
No magic here, just elbow grease, time and being anal

Too bad they're from a FZR600 EXUP and slightly confuse everyone... ha! They are really nice photos to have regardless of the extra tubes. I've used them repeatedly and so have a lot of other forum users.
Thanks for joining and participating in the most "active" FZR Community on the internet!

Ha, they also appear to be 89 carbs. The missing screws on the fuel bowls, the throttle cable bracket

I don't recognize those from being part of the carbs. He may have some other parts on the bench.
Well you should, There they are on the throttle linkage (centre)
I UNDERSTAND.. damit I sat for 2 hours trying to work out where they went on my carbs.. They not return springs at all they just keep pressure on the outer carbs linkages. Thanks Guys!!!
