Hey Yamster,Yamster wrote:I have been looking at these,is there a differance between stage 1 & 3 for the 600?
Forgive my simpleness, but i thought these were to change the jetting(fueling)if you changed the exhaust?
Do they give more power?
Sorry for these questions, but the workings of engines,at present i have no idea.
The difference is the main jet sizing, and by extension, whether you're running an airbox or pods.
Stage 1 - smaller increase in jet size + airbox
Stage 3 - larger increase in jet size + pods
Have a look at this:

Hope that helps,

now yamste heres sum1 that knows wot ther talkin about
Re: dyno jet kits any good
But here's a kink in the grand plan....you don't HAVE to run pods if you go stage 3. The air box can be retained although most people who run stage 3 switch to pods.

Cheers fzrbrandon
They look reasonably straight forward to fit, what kinda bhp boost would stage 3 give over standard?
I have just got a brand new k&n filter that replaces the original,so it makes me think stage 3 would be the best ones?
Sorry about the
fzrwayne, but i hope its helping you as much as me.

Re: dyno jet kits any good
Gone and ordered a set,and the Guy says that in the kit, there is "stage 1 and stage 3 included",does that sound right?
Says on his website that i should expect 8% increase in power.Do you think i will acheive that with a standard fitting K&N with the stage 3 fitted?

Yep, when you order the kit, it'll come with a bunch of jet sizes (I want to say like 4 different sizes). It'll also have the needles and everything yoou need to get that going.
Regarding the boost in power, I really don't know first hand as I've never dyno'ed any of my bikes after (or before for that matter) re-jetting. You can have a look at the generic dyno sheet that comes with the kit to give you a general idea. I think they even use a Seca II as the guinea pig bike so the numbers would be reasonably close to what the FZR600 would pull. Some of the other fellas around here could probably give some more concrete answers in this area.

Re: dyno jet kits any good
Actually, if you're just running a K&N with the airbox, the recommended set is Stage 1. However, as Sweekster pointed out, you COULD run Stage 3. It might take a little more fiddling to get the results you want. When I did my 600 (with 118s), I followed the instructions to the letter and the results were WAY more than satisfactory for me. The bike previously had 135 (!) main jets and pods and, as a result, was an absolute pig until the tach swung up to around 9k - 10k. After I did the re-jetting (back down to 118s and the airbox w/ a k&N) the difference was night & day! She now pulls WAAAYYY harder in the mid-range and pulls steadily all the way to redline without any hiccups. There's a lot of debate on this but this has been my experience.Yamster wrote: I have just got a brand new k&n filter that replaces the original,so it makes me think stage 3 would be the best ones?
Good luck to both of you guys (Yamster & Wayne) and let us know how it goes!
