DIY Rear Stands

Anyone got a DIY rear stand for these FZRs?
I'm mostly just looking for something to make lubing the chain/other maintenance easier.

Someone made a rear stand out of pvc tube at one point. Not sure who it was or if the plans are still around. I have a tubing bender and a welder so I just fabbed up a quick one myself.

I'm thinking more like a milk crate under the oil pan...

i picked up a decent one of craigslist for 20 bucks ncie white LP stand . the guy used it on old cafe racer bikes fit my fzr perfectly .. even works on my new honda 929 .. but it didnt work on my R1

Thanks I do what I can when I can LoL.

It was a DYI job that was pointless & just to prove I could do it. The main thing I designed in was atruly tall set of lifts to use a ratchet strap from so I could lift the bike up without cause to use any suspension component.

as stands are a lot cheaper than they were as more bikes cannot be put on beer crates etc to work on them.

I hope you find yourself there often & are picking up skills as that kind of thing is getting scarcer to find and our legacy to the next set of biker boys & girls is our knowledge.

So took my pops advice and am going to hang the rear end from the rafters of my back porch with a pair of tie-downs.
Should work perfect and be plenty stable.

That's how I swapped my shock and I'm using the same method for the fork rebuild. Just make sure you spread out the top mounting points for stability. The bike can try to go all kinds of crazy ways when you start to lift it and only one tire is touching the ground (helps to have a friend to spot it for you).

I also might mention that I picked up a set of eBay specials (Chinese knockoff) stands for not too much, and they work fine until you need to do suspension work.
