Weird tire help

Post by shredex »

ok, the guy i bought the r1 front from, said I would need a new tire because the one on there was dry rotted.
I checked over it and found that it wasnt and there was no flat spots from sitting and the tire is only from 2004 and it has alot of tread left on it which is why i kept it.
Iv been riding on it since the swap and have had no problems.
BUT, when I looked at it the other day, (looked because I rubbed my hand on it and it felt wierd) I noticed that my tire bumps out in the middle giving it kind of a triangular shape...it makes no sense because its not like im riding on the sides of the tires constantly...I mean my brand new back tire is flat down the middle do to all the straight riding I do.

so anyone know what could cause the middle of the tire to be bumped out all the way around??

i could get into a big explanation of what is causing and the end result would still be to tell you to replace it. so just replace it!!!! pretty much its old its coming apart possibly and its better to be safer

Excessive v shape is not good.Get new tyre and make shure you go with the correct size for rim.6inch rim up to 190 and 5.5inch up to 180.

dude totally understand the money issue but i work parttime at discounttire and if a customer came inb with a tire like that we would tell them to replace and could not air up or do anything else to it due to the possibility of it seperating and it having a blow out. I see this shit all the time and it always ends with it coming apart. plus if it blows on a bike think of the damage you and your bike would take

rep[lacing the tire is a lot cheaper than a severe visit hospital bill. Rubber gets old. Even if you had a brand new 0 mile tire that was 5 or 6 years old, you still need a new tire.
