Just fix a 750 FZR
Yes, the new project will start in a few days. I need your help though. This project will become a bike for track only. That means no lights and unnecesary things. The bike has no fairings as you see. So this gives me the opportunity to pic up what i want to put on. Tell me your opinions guys. If you have any photos, ideas or anything, please let me know. Any swing arm swaps, fork swaps and so.
Thanks in advance
Chris

Re: Just bought a 750 FZR
I would take it you're going to do a rebuild on the motor? An FZR 1000 motor of the same year will fit in that frame. The 1000 EXUP motor will fit with a bit of frame work. Unless the motor already in there is dead then go with what you have. As said, if you can find a YZF 750 front end (or maybe a ThunderAce?) then swap to that. FZR 1000 EXUP or YZF750 swingarm and rear wheel will bring you to date with more modern tire choices. R1 brakes and Master Cylinder. Also, since this is a track bike, a custom and much lighter subframe should be on the list as well. A proper jet kit and filter for the carbs....

Re: Just bought a 750 FZR
what is the rear wheel size on the 750?
when you do your swingarm swap (and if it has a wider back wheel than the 600), see if the swinger can fit into a fzr600 frame with no modifications.....

Re: Just bought a 750 FZR
Well first. it has an 18inch wheel (160)...second the swing arm won't fit without modifications.shredex wrote:what is the rear wheel size on the 750?

Re: Just bought a 750 FZR
R1 front end, YZF750 swingarm/wheel, overhaul the engine or drop in a FZR1000, definatly custom make a rear sub-frame. That should net you some good handling. You probably want to go with a bigger radiator to help cool things off.
Fairings are going to be a little difficult. I don't think anyone makes fairings for that model. Some OW01 fairings would look great on it. It would look very similar to the 3TJ you just finished. But anything is going to require custom brackets so.... Also swap to a FZR1000 to help with the lines.
Thats what I would look to do.
Nice grab.

Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Re: Just bought a 750 FZR
I say, if the motor is in good condition and isnt dead, then you should keep the 750...
not many people have the 750
if you want a 1000, then just buy the 1000...

and let us know how the 750 rowrs when shes done!
I agree with the r1 front forks...

Wow... it seems that youknow very well fzrs. I'll follow your instructions. At least some of them...sweekster wrote:I would take it you're going to do a rebuild on the motor? I agree with the engine opinion. I'll see if it's dead or not. The front must leave though. What do you all guys think about a tail from Kawasaki Z-750?shredex wrote:I say, if the motor is in good condition and isnt dead, then you should keep the 750...

Re: Just bought a 750 FZR
He talking about this (see below) it's the same tail that is on the 03-05 (?) 636 and Z1000.the_finch wrote:I'm having a hard time finding a picture of a Z-750 tail. Do you have any photos we can use for reference?csofos wrote:What do you all guys think about a tail from Kawasaki Z-750?
The model shown in the pic was never sent here to the US (03-04). We just have the Z750s that has the front fairing and differet rear tail. I know this because one that I used to own (an 06 Z750S that my girls father now owns ) is always parked in the same garage as my FZR.
