hard to comment.... so sore.... ran up a mountain in the woods today on the hare scramble trails... been a few months.... always challenge myself at this most difficult spot on the trail... quite steep, rocky, trees here and there, huge jagged & polished boulders as big as a various size rooms in a house (not flat either, all kinds of alien shapes)... lots of erosion and ruts and some loose smaller boulders also -- what I call "FUN" but most people wouldn't even try to climb up with a rope without paramedics standing by.... so the last few times i had been up there earlier in the summer i made it up fine once and the other time the bike died in the middle of it and i was sliding backwards holding brake trying to re-start and finally struggling got up there.

.......so this time i'm like..... "I'm gonna rip this thing a new a-hole".....so prep speed, round the corner in 2nd gear, pick my line, start bopping, richocheting, and hopping up the hill, ....... i'm almost at the top and SHIT ! -- I can't change my trajectory and i'll be damned if i'm letting up now because at this angle me and the bike will go pin-wheeling down the hill like some kind of Wile E. Coyote cartoon... so i give it a little more and here i am already at 45 degrees or more pulling a wheelie and i can't avoid the tree and....... right up the tree !!!! .... off we go, off the middle / side of the tree and i separate from the bike and go flying like Superman (SuperDing-Dong) trying to land on my feet and watching the bike fall to the ground to get it's handlebars all bent again (farck!) and YES i land so far angle forward tippy toe heavy boots arms out praying no no don't fall you're not wearing your elbow pads stupid keep your balance AH yes good a graceful landing let me go back and pick the bike up now... shit that doesn't look good.

Well i hope you enjoyed just a little of the fun i had today, i know i did. screwy

Well Rage, I was going to address you first but i just got stream-of-conciousness so went with it. I think once you hook it up with the Power Commander and get a custom map via dyno tune (don't just Yoshi map it unless it's too expensive to go custom route) at least that's the rumor on the street but you could check it out with your track-day-junkie local friends and see what they think and yes i'm working on this huge run-on sentence and i haven't taken a breath yet.
 just kidding i'm breathing.... So anyway congrats on the bike and i think it looks awesome and i'm sure that you'll get the ride height and set-up all worked out and hey it would be boring if it was just totally perfect right out of the box but you already see the huge advantages over the FZR will show up exactly where you need them to. And if you can actually get a Scott's steering damper for that price let me know where because everywhere i've looked it's at least $450.

Don't worry, it will get faster, especially once you QA-520 kit it.

I'll get the Power Commander next spring along with some other enhancements. I'm certain I can turn this into one heck of a beast.

The transmission is too smooth. I can't even tell that I've shifted have the time. Really, it is so not a Yamaha in this dept.

After adjusting the front forks to stock height and the rear back to the stock dogbones, the bike sits pretty darn high. A lot higher than I thought it would or should.

With the strong mid-range, it should do extremely well at the Track Day where I would have to downshift the FZR to get some corner exiting cajones...

It appears that the rear shock rebound screw is not working. I'll have to dig in and find out why.

if that shock dont work let me know ill send u my spare

Great looking bike, good luck with the handling. The GSXR I rode handled as you say heavy especially in sharp turns...it almost comes over on you. Have fun with it, I wonder what a two brothers exhaust would do for it??
