GSXR 750 rear shock install

dude i was just joking about my shock. i bought it on ebay for $59. that guys is smoking crack if he thinks somones gonna pay $255 for a stock gsxr shock. but hey then again "there's an ass for every seat."

You don't have to make a new mount. The r6 is not as wide as the FZR so you need to make bushings to fill up the space. A few washers on both sides of the shock will do the same thing in a pinch.

I know about that part of the shock. What I meant was a mount for the whole top of the shock to the sub frame. Wont it be sitting different? Will it fit through the swingarm and have the right angle? That's all im asking.

Oooo...yeah it fits through correctly and the angle is correct as well BUT....that's where the spring rate comes into play. I think what you're thinking is this: because the shock is from a bike where the angle is closer to being horizontal than it is vertical then the shock itself is sitting at the wrong angle, thus changing how much force is needed for it to dampen properly. You had the right idea with your swingarm swap to move the upper shock mount so the shock sits at the correct angle in the swingarm. But then again...I could be wrong about all of what I just said.

One thing fit that on the bike and it doubles the retail value of the bike LoL

Well I have found out two things today

1} check yer tyres more regularly than I do (about 1 evrey 7 days). Instarting on {"} I found a 1.5" screw in my rear tyre
Cost of replacing tyre 116UKP fitted.

2} IF you have a 3EN swing arm the haybusa shock just might work but look to get a shorter battery and be prepared to re-make the battery box.
For sure the GSXR600 k6 K& '06 '07 shock will not fit in the 3EN swing arm as the reservoir hits (almost sits) on the bracing !!!


I now have the choice of cutting the chain (again) & removing the 3En and using a1wg non braced extruded but highly polished swing arm & the gsxr600 shock.

Your in the UK why don't you just jam a whole 3tj rear end in there? 17" wheel and a nice beefy swingarm that wont hit the shock.

Tell you the truth I had forgotten I had the 3TJ swingarm (its behind the Sofa in the lounge by way of explanation why I had forgotten it Lol)

I think there is a problem with different size swing arm bolt & axle sizing as well so it may mean making a sleeve inside the swingarm pivot to suit the smaller diam already on the bike I will look up my original notes

Hmm find a rear wheel NOT now for sure having just had to buy a new tyre TODAY for the 18" rim since I got to the workshop with a tyre that was rapidly deflating yesterday with a 1.5" screw in it

I'm replacing the chain etc at Christmas so I will do this all then Nerd
