I put together the rear wheel and swingarm tonight and tightened it down. When I looked at it and spun the wheel it was fine. Then, I noticed that the clutch or hub does not go all the way against the wheel. Well, there is a gap between the clutch and the wheel, like the rubber dampers in the cush drive are to thick or something.
I changed the rear sprocket to a 520 vortex and the old sprocket(original 530)
Ok, to answer your question. Yes. Its suppose to be like that. If you use the OEM sprocket it has a notch in it so it will sit closer to the wheel. The vortex is not made like that.
ABS was right, I will need to machine down the cush drive to bring it closer in to align with the chain. Maybe, if I use the 520 chain I might not have to. Time will tell.

HEheh....that wont happen. Retard is suppose to come by on saturday to get the other swing arm I have and check out my progress. Measure twice grind all day. LOL Ill let you know how she turns out.
your set up is normal...thats the part i machined down .22" you will have to use a tourch to head up the sprocket studs because they are locktitied in, that process took too us about 40 mins to get them all out, 20 mins to cut the carrier down (machine it down from the front surface where the sprocket touches) you should be off 1 thicnkess of a 520 pitch wich can is about .22"
told ya you'd have to machine it down...but us young bucks dont know a thing haha.

are you cutting down the swingarm any? if not you will be grinding on the frame all day.

ABS, dont know if you read the final thread to the R6 swinger build but I DID NOT have to trim anything on the cush drive and by using the 520 set up I didnt have to space out the rear set or clutch shaft. Woohoo!@!!!!
That odd, i had to on my yzf600r swingarm swap i did. even had to use the 636 front sprocket...was your swingarm centered because i know the r6 swingarm is not the same lenght on both side and my yzf600r one was. my chain was perfectly stright also not sure where almost a 1/4 inch differs from your and mine

I trimmed more on the one side to get it centered but that was it. To be honest, Im amazed by how it all lined up so perfect. I also used all R6 parts, swinger, wheel, cush so .....dont know. Just happy as hell that the chain lined up so perfect.
