Post by commotoed »

Hello, new FZR750RT owner in KY, #169. My bike is all stock and I would like to install a Header, will FZR1000 87/88 work on the 750?
Any wisdom on Wheel interchange?
thanks, eh

Not only are the pipes different part numbers, but the gaskets also use different p/ns. Barring input from someone who's done it, I'm gonna say probably not ...

From what I remember the 1k Genesis and 750 Genesis were almost the same bike and a lot of parts swapped back and forth. From looking at the both exhausts side by side it looks to be the same. Granted the part numbers are different but yamaha can be weird about that. I mean exup cables for the FZR100 exup, YZF1000, and 98-01 YZF-R1 have different parts numbers and they are pretty much the same set of cables. So it would not surprise me if the headers used infact are the same in this case.
