Hi Guys,

As said on the intro thread i created, i have a 1990 3he that Grenaded itself, and now has 2 large holes in the engine casings, and got knows what internal damage.

Will 4JH or 3EN engines drop straight in without having to mess around with shimming/modifying anything?

Cheers

Chris

Hi, Chris - welcome to the madness!

The 3EN will bolt in - I think. Certainly, the 1WG is a straight swap, but it's usually the other way around. Going from a 600 to a 400 is a significant reduction in power - not that a blown engine is cranking out that much! :whistle

The 4JH is straightforward but involved. The TCI of a 4JH cannot read the crank signal pattern of a 3HE, and vice versa, and the connectors are completely different, so some wiring work is needed. Also, the sprocket is slightly offset.

What you do next depends on what you find inside. You may want to investigate the possibility of a 660 conversation.
