i just got done with lowering my 95 fzr 600 and want to ask to make sure i have it set right or if i need to adjust it some more. i lowered the rear 1 1/2" and the front at the triple tree 1" took her for a ride and she feels pretty good. gonna have to get used to how quick she responds now but other than that i like it. i finally sit flat footed at stop. that was a big issue for me before i lowered it. YG need some input from an expert.

Mine was lowered by the previous owner (female) by swapping the shock links with an R6. It's lowered about an inch or a little more.

The only issue is using the kickstand to park your bike because the bike will not slant as much now.

Yeah that's the first thing I noticed. And the most thing I don't like. Ima try and find a short stand for it.

Hang on - you dropped it 1" in the front and 1-1/2" inches in the rear ... and it steers QUICKER?! What you described should have raked it out, SLOWING the steering!

I have only taken it around the block and haven't gotten to speeds yet. But so far I have noticed that it responds more to less movement of the bar. This is my first time doing this so im tryn to make sure I did it right

I agree with Don, I think you may just be imagining it. That formula should have resulted in slower steering from everything I've learned as well. Messing with rise height is notoriously difficult and often has mistakes, I'd double check your work.

ill double check. what height would y'all recommend dropping the front with a 1.5 drop in the rear. ill also know better how she rides when i leave for work today. ill post when results when i get home this after noon.

I've not messed with the height on mine yet simply because I'm already close to bottoming out from the soft stock suspension and my size. I will say I've always heard ride height via the bars should be messed with in millimeters, not inches. Small changes can net big differences but less rake/trail also cost you some front end stability so you may find yourself with a twitchy bike if you do too much.

I personally think it's something you should work with all at the same time if possible so you can have back to back comparisons without a break in between. It's easy to get acclimated quickly, when I switched to a stock 110 front end from a 120 (the 110 will also help turn in) I was so impressed with the improvement I was bombing corners all over well past my previous turn in points, but it wasn't long before the feeling of the 120 was gone from memory in comparison.

i was able to ride a little on my way to work and at 55 i did notice that it wasnt as stable as it used to be. might be a problem with the low speeds that i have to do going through the neighborhood and coming in the gate to work so i might raise the front some. but thank you for the heads up. i look and didnt find that info before i dropped it so knowing that now is good advice.

me, I'd recommend dropping the front RIGHT BACK TO STOCK height.

Same with the rear...if not dropping it an inch or so higher....

not sure what stock height is. when i got it the clip ons were at the very top of the forks just about perfectly flush with it. with lowering the rear do i have to lower the front or could i have left that alone?
