A little help with some seals dimensions

I recently changed my piston rings. Last Saturday I mounted the engine into the frame and put some oil and coolant into the system, fired it up and I noticed that there was oil coming out from the clutch push rod seal and water from the water pipe end that goes into the water pump. I also noticed that there was some oil making its way out trough the lower-left-front of the engine where the upper crank case meats the lower crank case.

I want to know:
1. the dimensions for:
-clutch push rod seal. part no. 93109-08058-00
- O-ring that goes on at the ends of the pipe that conects the water pump to the engine feed. part no. 93210-21190-00
2. should I try to tighten the engine case bolts a little bit more?

When I tore the engine down the first time I just went to the local parts store and got an o ring for the pump. I don't remember the size sorry but if you take the coolant out and take off that hose. And go in with it you should be fine. As for the oil. I have been battling this problem ever since i broke my engine apart last year. Did you replace the base gaskets or did you even go down that far?

Chris.

If you have a harbourfreight Tools near they have an o-ring kit for less then $10.00. Or you can order from their site.

I replaced the gasket that was between the cylinder block and the engine block. I didn't get as far as splitting the cases. I looked in the manual and there seems to be no gasket between the crankshaft cases.
Today I took the push rod seal and the O-ring off. The push rod seal seems to be 8x21x6 (mm), which is a pretty weird dimension. I can't seem to find it at local shops in my area. The O-ring seems to have the ID of 22 or 23 mm and is 2 mm thick.

Most (if not all) Yamaha crankcase halves are sealed with YamaBond (or generic equivalent), not an actual gasket. Don't put on too much, since the excess will wind up in your oil intake screen. Bad things happen when you block off your oil intake screen ... :yuck:

I think I'm gonna make a small ditch where the crankshaft cases meet an put some JB weld in there. Hope that this will stop the "bleeding".

Nik,
Thank you for your support. I already bought a 8x21x6 mm seal on ebay. And I also bought some O rings for the water pipe from a local store. I hope that I will be able to replace them A.S.A.P. Now I must fix the problem with the oil coming out trough the crankcase seal. The leak is hardly noticeable but it bugs my mind knowing that it's there.

T-Geo,
The hassle you face is if you make slight V where the leak is before adding the JB weld is that when / if you have to work on the cases the sealing area will have been made narrower. Also JB weld to work the surfaces have to be oil free something of a problem since you are trying to stop an oil weep
Might I suggest , assuming you do not want to go the take it all apart route, that you use carb spray to degrees the area then use silicon glue, (aquarium glue ) as the sealant rather than JB weld.

Y-Geo,
Will the silicon glue resist the temperatures in that area? The quantity of oil that comes out trough that area is not that great. But, not only that it pisses me off that I still have loses of oil even as insignificant as that, the massive ammount of air that flows through that area will spread the oil all over the engine, lower frame and inside the fairings.

T-Geo,
I can understand your frustration it is those niggling little things that hurt like paper cut so bloody small but give lots of grief.
There is a silicon rubber that is blue and high enough temperature resistance that I use it to seal two stroke silence down tubes into the long flanges bolted to the cylinder head that are held in place with springs. I neber get exhaust blow by or oil seeping ot there od on the mid-tube to exhaust stinger junction sealed the same way..
Once the area wil thoroughly cleaned og oil it will bond and handle heat wek and no mess. To get a smooth surface the best tool is a saliva coated finger (I kid you not)

Can you please tell me the name of that silicon rubber? maybe I can find it on ebay.

T-Geo,
something like this one :-

Yeh this one is red but the one I used was blue RTV silicon instant gasket by Pro Seal bought in the USA.
