Engine wont turn over

Well i've been rebuilding my engine (replacement cylinder head) over the past few weeks. Today i finally got the thing back together came to turn it over by hand and the thing just wouldn't budge. When rebuilding it i spent time to make sure the block was a TDC on cylinder one and all the timing marks lined up on the camshafts. There was no slack in the cam chain and everything was put back where i found it. Im thinking its valves hitting pistons but like i say everything was at TDC when reassembled. If anyone can shed some light and thoughts on my problem it would be great. Cheers in advance.

Gizzard.

Did you verify that the timing mark on the flywheel was lined up as well? I know you mentioned making sure cylinder 1 was TDC, but by the manual it recommends getting all 3 timing marks ( crank and cams ) lined up from what I can remember.

Is this from your crashed fzr chris? The old man kept the spare one from my old engine so all is well. Ehat condition where your down pipes in? If they where good and solid would you be willing to part eith them and a few other bits for money your way? How is the wrist??

No these aren't from the crashed one. I have virtually a complete and stripped 3HE engine sitting in my shed. If you saw the pic in the other thread then you will know that the downpipes were crushed and ripped from the manifold lol so they no good. What other parts would you possibly be interested in? I'm sure the ins co. wouldn't miss them. It's cat B so wont be going back on the road.

Wrist is coming on well considering. Plate out hopefully in 9-12wks. Got an Xray next week to monitor healing.

Hoping to go out to Austria on the bike in late July :whistle

Peanut cover + generator cover is all i can think of now for the engine, had to repair mine with liquid metal and they're both an eye sore

Both mine the same unfortunately, I took the good ones off and put them on my FZR400R.

As long as you never want the covers polished, just sprayed, you get quite a good finish with chemical metal i find. A bit of fine sanding and spraying and they're as good as new!
