Assessment of My New Ride

So I recently acquired my '93 FZR600. I figured I would list the items I have noticed that need my attention and my plans to resolve them.
Issue: All of the plastics are in need of replacement or repair in some fashion.
Plan: I would prefer to find some mint-condition OEM plastics, but since that's not likely I will replace with fiberglass aftermarket peices. I will probably do a tank/seat/tail swap, too.
Issue: The fork is providing no damping at all.
Plan: Looking into different options for fork swaps. I like inverted units, so I'll probably go for an entire R1 front end if I can find one at a reasonable price.
Issue: The rear spring/shock is toast.
Plan: I think I am going to do the YZF600 swingarm swap with the 08-up(?) R1(?) shock.
Issue: Carbs need cleaned and synched.
Plan: Service the carbs.
Issue: There is a broken threaded boss on the sump, creating a pretty decent oil leak.
Plan: Still up in the air. Obviously fix it.
Issue: Entire bike is covered with oily grime from aforementioned leak.
Plan: The entire bike will be disassembled and refinished in some fashion. It will be nice and clean for spring.
Issue: There are various electrical gremlins caused by a bad VR (had been replaced by PO), including a weird tachometer issue.
Plan: Repair and replace items as needed. I will definately be upgrading the VR to thwart any future meltdowns.
Issue: Tires are worn out.
Plan: With my planned front and rear end upgrades will come different wheels. I will get some really good rubber at that time.
That's it for the moment. I will add more as I find it. Maybe this will evolve into my build thread.
