Anyone have a photo of stock fork springs?
Are the wound the same all the way down, like Race Techs, or are they like the Progressives that have a tighter winding at one end?
Thanks!

If the springs that I took out of my bike when I put in the RaceTechs were stock, then they have a progressive rate. I can take a picture sometime if you still need it.

I don't recall the coils at the bottom being quite that tight, but yeah, pretty much like that.
I'll take a look at mine when I get home and let you know for sure.

The reason I believe these might be progressive fork springs is the shape. Race Techs are wound the same way all the way down and I believe the stockers are the same way.
I can almost bet these are Progressive springs that I took out.

Okay, mine looked exactly like yours. Like I said, not sure it they were stock or not. I'm inclined to think they're stock. I'm pretty sure most bikes come stock with progressive rate springs because it accomodates the needs of a greater number of riders.

Those are stock. The FZR line came stock with VERY weak progressive forks for the reason stated above. A progressive spring is great, if it is matched to your weight

Some sort of spring powered cannon was the first thing that came to mind.

Darrin,
Do you mean other uses for the springs ?
If so buy a duck caller, cut the springs in half. Mount the spings on a young womans knees and elbows put the duck caller in her mouth now mount the young lady .
She will ask you WTF you are doing. You can tell her it is the " four sprungduck technique " well known in Germany sorry I could not resist LoL

Since I rarely watch TV I can't be sure if Audi has those "Vorsprung durch Technik" ads here in the states. I had to do a little bit of searching to even know what the hell you were talking about.
YG, might you be a Mighty Boosh fan? Not saying that was a similar joke to what you'd find in that show, just wondering.

FK,
I have heard the name but cannot say I ever seen it, what passes for humour here and stateside on the TV is drivvle. TV for me is to learn trivia that may be useful or something I know about like NCIS, CSI, survival specialists, scrap heap challenge etc
