Help me diagnose my plugs.

Post by delvryboy »

I know I was running really lean with the pods for a couple thousand miles.

I'm guessing the white tips are overheated?

The melted plug, cylinder #3, looks to be detonation.

I've since put the airbox back on in combination with the Flo-Commander. I also plugged some air leaks in the box......runs like a new bike.

Also, that's not oil or sludge on the plug, it looks and feels burnt/melted.

DB,

did you do my pod mod extension tube mod ? that mod keeps the various jets correct as stock with little variant required.
Those plugs pics should look down the plug bore but in this case the damage is well high lighted. As you say 3 got so hot it became aglow plug and melted by the look of it so that is one serious air leak or fuel starvation.
