Help Identifying Unused Wiring Connector

Checking over my bike today and found an unused wiring connector near the VR. I suspect it may be for an old alarm system as the tail has a very small red light fitted to it, although the light is no longer connected to anything.

The bike electrics seem fine so I don't think that this connector was for an essential part.

Any ideas?

That does look like an alarm connection. My son and I have just about rewired his 600 and we had nothing like that to start with. Just one question What's the relay cabletied to the frame next to the main relay?????

Stranglerman,

I think it's the turn signal/flasher relay (It appears to be an after market part by Halfords). I'll probably replace it with a better pattern part when I get round to doing the VR mod.

I only got this bike in July and it's my first FZR so I am still getting to know it.

The relay on the frame is a parts-store flasher relay; the 6-pin connector hanging free (with only 3 wires going to it) is the OEM connector. The Black, White/Green and Yellow/Red wires are for the self-cancelling circuit in the Yamaha relay.

Thanks Don,

Found this link to another image showing the VR using the original connector.

If i get the correct relay I can just re-wire it as it was originally as all the wires are still there. I appreciate all the replies.
