Wiring Looms

Post by Stranglerman »

Hi all
Another question on my sons behalf regarding his 1991 3HE. It recently decided to start blowing it's main fuse, so we started to check for the problem. On looking at the loom it had fitted we decided that the easiest course of action would be a replacement loom. One sourced and bought, Problem is now the new loom when fitted up has spare connectors, One 9 block and one 4 block. These connectors are at the head light end of the loom. I've tried to compare it to my 400 but to no avail. Does anyone have a wiring diagram they could e.mail to me so I can work out the wiring and get him back on the road. Thanks in advance.

Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Thanks for the link cad600. Unfortunately looking closer at the wiring, i.e. opening it up, the new loom appears to have been butchered for an alarm, hence the spare connectors. Next course of action a rewire of the affected area. Something we've neither attempted is wiring like that. But we have to learn.

Those should be for the gauge cluster. I think a few years of the gauge cluster had those plugs you were describing. I had the same issue and had to just manually plug the cables in. I popped all of the male cables out, plugged them in, and then electrical taped it together.

Thanks for the reply. From what I can see on what we have, we have the gauge cluster connections and the switch gear connections, we have spare other connectors sitting in the replacement loom, and on opening it up we sort of worked out it was for an alarm the donor bike had fitted cause nothing matches up anywhere.

There was also a varient that had a plug to attach the right side headlight and turn signal via a sub wire harness to the main harness while the left side was a permanent part of the main harness.
