so i cleaned the carbs and jets fully...bench synced the bike..now it ran without the airbox didnt run great but she started..now i put the airbox back on and she wont turn over..she sounds like she wants to..but just isnt..any ideas

is your battery charged? or is it cranking and just not firing? could be fouled plugs

hey target..yeah im still having problems with this same bike..it will crank over without the airbox on..or with the choke full out throttle wide open with the airbox on..got brand new plugs in it.and it must be getting spark to crankover

Actually, a bike can crank without spark as long as the battery lasts. Pull and check your plugs.

o did not know that..plugs look good..its cranking now just idling funny gonna adjust the idle screw and see what happens..tomorrows another day

Just out of curiosity, did you check to see if anything got into the air box to block the passage? Someone had a small animal build a nest in their air box once.

yeah i have taken the airbox apart..so on to new problems..got her going..took her for a ride yesterday..she rides alright untill all of a sudden she boggs down throttle full open wont go over 30-35mph..then all of a sudden she will take off again ride good for a min or two..then bogg..throttle full open for a min she will take off...shes pms'n..very tempermental or something

Take a look in the tank, make sure it is clean. Also, have you checked your fuel filter? Maybe try running without it for a mile or two, see if it helps. I might have some time this week to either shoot over or have you come by. Mother in law is in town, so I getna little more free time

haha god bless the inlaws..yeah its stuck in hudson at my friends house..im gonna trailor it to my other buddys house in hudson so his dad can look at it too..i was just made aware that before my last ride when shit went wrong my buddy put seafoam in my gastank...wondering if its still trying to burn that out..wondering if i should let it run at idle through the little over half tank that is in there...i rhode good for about an hr then went back to not letting me over 35..now it wont go past 3.5 rpms...took the airbox off and checked the carbs quick while it ran and when u open the vacuum to carb 3 it shuts it off...im lost for what to do

empty the tank, and put some gas in it. try it then.

I want to say this may have something to do with your issues. I'll save why I'm not a fan of this for another time but from what you describe you've the cards set too rich. Would explain why it will start without the airbox but won't when you out it on. My suggestion would be to turn the carb screws (the one IN BETWEEN each carb) 1 full turn counter clockwise and try again to start it with the airbox. It's a weirdo shot in the dark suggestion from a weirdo but can't hurt.

ok target...so i went to pick it up with my buddy and his trailor..well just as a shot in the dark tried to start her up..she started..let her warm up..then check the rpms in neutral..got on put her into first..took off like a champ all up and down the road through gears...had my buddy follow me in his truck just in case..and sure enough after about 2 miles...i was coming to a stop sign..as soon as i put the clutch in..she died..and wouldnt start as if she was flooded..i really dont think i adjusted my float heights right or bench synced it right either...still new to all this...my rpms still wont even come close to redline while going through gears either..it will sound like it..but wont get up there
