minor adjustments & idle

i just bought my 95 600 and pulled it out for the first time at night and noticed the my lights are aimed a little high. it is fine when i have my lows on but when i turn my highs on they shine over the house accross the street and into the trees. which is all fine and dandy if i am looking for squirls but i need to see the road. does any one know how to adjust them. from everything i am reading it my idle is low by like almost 600rpm. i am new to bikes so i am not sure. i idle arount 550 or so. which i am pretty sure is low because i can not ease out the clutch with out stalling and i have driven stick shift cars for years and have been riding my buddies 03 tl1000r for a few months and dont have a problem with it stalling on me. so i think that it is low. and one other thing i dont like where my cluch grabs at. it is almost at the end of the travel on relese that it starts to grab. is there any way to adjust this? any help will be appriciated. thanks

Hi, Cntryboy.
550 is quite low; a 600 should be idling around 1150-1250.
There are adjusting screws for the headlights on the back of each bulb bucket. The adjuster on the top is for vertical aim.
Your clutch probably needs adjusting at the sprocket cover:
- 1. Loosen off cable adjuster at the lever
2. Remove the rubber plug in the sprocket cover
3. Loosen the locknut
4. Back off the adjuster if needed; turn it in until it JUST touches, then back off 1/4 turn
5. Tighten the locknut, being careful not to disturb the adjuster
6. Replace the rubber plug
7. Adjust the cable at the lever to your preference.

so i got the idle adjusted and it is right at 1100 now. but now i am not sure what i am looking at as far clutch adjustment. i dont have a rubber plug but i do have a recess where there looks like there used to be a plug with a phillips head stud and a nut around it. am i looking at the right thing?

Nope not dead if i didnt say please, thank you, sir or mam my mom would slap the crap out of me. Lol im thinking my carb might be a little out of sinc though. Runs a little rough at idle but it hasnt been ridden much in the last few months so they might be a little dirty so when i get legal i am going to put asome sea foam in it and ride for the day and see if that helps. If it doesnt going to pull them off clean the jets and have them set right. And want to move my idle adjustment to where i dont have to pull the left side off to be able to dajust it
