Tire size and Hello

Post by fadlan12 »

Hi, first post is a question.
I ordered these onlne (these are the size tires currently on the bike) but the CS rep called me and said they were out of the 150/60 and suggested the 170/60. Now I looked at the stock tire sizes on FZR Archives and they are even smaller than what i have on thr bike.

Will the 170/60 cause problems on the rear? I read a YZF forum where they were going up to a 180 size tire for the rear. But I'm not sure if the rim is the same for the FZR vs YZF.

Yam93 pointed me to this forum. I am also a member at FZR archives.

generally speaking 150/60 is the largest that is recommended, but a few guys on the forums have had no issues with a 160/60. so you should be ok.

If its being mounted on the FZR you will have to space out your brake arm I believe.

It will rub on your brake arm. I've seen people who have had to shave down the tire to make it fit. I would suggest sticking with nothing larger than a 150 which fits very nicely.

if you want a 160 you should mod your breake arm a little...if you want larger do wheel swaps.
