I didn't realize that the stock headers would have been different on any of them... they probably aren't. I'm almost certain it would fit.

A lot of companies only go back so far for support any more. The SS2R from Vacne and Hines says 95-04 on their slip-ons. Shows ho wmuch tehy know about the FZR...

The can should be alright, but check with the seller to make sure they have the mid-pipe that is model specific. I bought a used SS2R can and mid pipe listed as fitting a 600. When I received it there was no way on god's green earth it was going to fit a 600. I called V&H with the stamped number on the can and mid pipe and they confirmed it was for a 1K. Fortunately the seller took the parts back and refunded my cash.

As is, it more than likely will not. The B-Pipe on this is probably going to kick the can pretty far out to the side. If you plan on modifying it, then go for it. Keep in mind that they are referring to the 95-96 YZF600 (in US terms). This was called an FZR600R everywhere else in the world. Since this is a UK item (http://www.viperracecans.com/address.asp), I can only imagine that this is the bike they are talking about. The YZF frame and swingarm are a bit wider than the FZR which is why the can will be offset a bit further out than your stock FZR pipe. I'd really suggest saving your money, unless you got $200 to play with. ~ Just a few words of caution.

okay , cool thanks for everybodys repl - its gets a little confusing , over here in Australia, we got the fzr600, then the yzf600r,then the yzf600r thundercats followed by the R6.

might stick with a pipe that i know is for the fzr600.

so what new exhaust are available for the fzr600 at a reasonable price ( i dont know if yoshi, akro, etc even do pipes anymore) , looking around at ebay doesnt seem to be alot available - mostly

vance and Hines SS2R either in slipon or the full system

or

the D+D pipes - I llike the look of the black satin pipe (goes with the paint scheme) but Iread some reports that the D+D are kinda crap - poorly put together and cheap and LOUD!! tho i notice they do a loud pipe and quiet pipe??? and also there is a carbon pipe as well for about $100 more

or i notice there is a cheap Vance and hines full system - tho i think i read somewhere that is isnt much of an improvemen over the stock system ???

any opinions or suggestions most appreciated

This is the race system - bad ass! I have one on my bike. This let's your bike breath much better than stock.

The reason it's cheaper is that it's not Chromed or Stainless or Titanium - it's painted.
