turn signals blink like fourways

I've been rebuilding a 96' fzr 600 and everything has been going very smooth. The parts paint nice, things come off and go on easy. But my demon is the turn signals... Im fairly knowledgeable when it comes to electrical diagrams and how everything works but I'm stumped, so now Im turning to all of you for help.
The bike had no turn signals when I received it and after installing after market turn signals when I turn my right side on; all four lights blink (right side brighter) and when I turn my left signal on; all four lights blink (left side brighter). I replaced the relay, same thing. I've taken most of the harness apart to look for a positive to positive short, Nothing. I have a new signal switch on order but if that doesn't work I'm all out of ideas. My cousin whom I bought it from said they worked prior to removing the original lights, but I'm not sure he would have noticed.
Hope someone knows what's to do and thanks for your time

The new blinkers are likely lower wattage. You can either add some resistors, or switch to a cheap digital turn signal relay that you can find at any auto parts store.

I agree go to this link
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=205 and scroll down to the "fixing the flash too fast problem." Usually at radio shack the resistors come in a 2 pack I would install one in line and see if it changes anything, and then since you have 2 put the other one in and see where that leaves you. If neither work then yeah go with what blensen said about the digital turn signal relay.

I think you guys missed the point ALL 4 lights come on at once sounds like there is across wiring problem. There is only ONE live feed from the relay to the h'bar switch and from that aleft and aright feed comes off. All the lamps have their own ground .
My t bet is that the ground wires on the lamps have been mixed with feed wires
I should point out I have no books here in the hospital and only 0.5 hours per day to surf

YG - The little indicator light on the dash grounds out through the OTHER (non-blinking) side. I'll agree with blenson - the power requirement of these new individual blinkers is MUCH lower than stock, to the point that the bleed-through across the indicator lamp can drive the signal bulbs.
Yakub - Are these by chance LEDs? Try pulling the dash indicator lamp, see what happens.

YG, I installed some LED strips on my passenger peg hangers and wired them as blinkers and had the same "all four at once" problem. I switched to a digital flasher relay (cost maybe $6 at Napa) and it works perfectly now. Pretty visible too! I'll upload a video later when I get a chance.

They are not LED lights but the bulbs are much smaller in size than stock. I'm headed to radio shack soon to get the resistors. I didn't notice both lines share a ground at the indicator light when looking at the map. Ill try pulling that bulb also and ill be able to let you know what happens in the next few hours thanks for all the help

The resistors worked like a charm! I used four total, it took maybe 5 minutes and the cost was $4.00 total at radio shack. Thanks guys

If you didn't already get some heat shrink tubing and wrap those resistors. They get pretty warm. Or just don't leave the blinkers on for a long time.
