Time to buy a second one and put that one in the showcase. Bike shows only.
good find. Also I find it weird that there is a tank bra and a net on it for only having 52 miles.
Chris.

The previous owner gave me everything he had for the bike; helmet, tool set, owners manual, net, and tank protector. He even threw in a ratchet strap to help tie it down on the trailer.

Yep, I was one of the ones calling for caution. I suppose it's possible, however unlikely, that someone bought it, low-sided it (exhaust looks scraped as well), got scared, then stuck it in their garage for 13 years. I just find it very suspect that a 13 year old bike has only 52 miles on it. Not impossible, just unlikely.
Just for kicks, maybe check the valve clearances?
Not sure what the factory shoots for when they roll 'em off the assembly line but if any of those valves are within the last half to quarter of their tolerance range, I'd say the PO BS'ed about the mileage.
Regardless, it looks to be in great cosmetic shape anyway.

NO BS here not trying to pull a fast one either. The guy bought it for his brother, who could not get a loan, and then his brother went into the service. He then went to Germany, Texas etc.... The bike has been pad off since 2001 and had the title to prove it. North Carolina DMV had no problems with the mileage either so I thought that was a good sign. Is it possible to run a car fax on a bike? I will take some pictures of the bike and post them. You all can jusdge for yourself. I beleive it is a 52 mile bike.

I noticed the exhaust as well, wonder if he'd put on an aftermarket at one point and that one saw the garage floor. He did buy other accessories. I'm pretty sure you can carfax a bike, I'd do it just to be able to prove it. I'm with Brandon, not impossible but implausible. I'm curious to see what one says

Yeah in all honesty if it runs and is mechanically sound. You have a great looking machine. So in the end who cares. Love the ride.

Hmm,
Nice find, certainly in good nick for a bike that age, but the EX-LEA in me does not like the position of the figures in that speedo picture has the hair on the back of my neck in a tizz.
You have it, look after it, I would be keeping it stone stock, just a good detailing & damn the clock, true /false not that relevant
