Did it run correctly for you in the past? Or can I assume that you just got this bike from someone else?

Give us a little history (as much as you know) so we can help you out.

CJD,
welcome to our site but PLEASE fill in your location in your personal profile , then we have some idea what market model you have they are NOT the same world wide. There just may be some one here who is not that far away and two heads is better than one.

OK as to the bike problem do you know if the PO had the bike standing doing nothing for any length of time , have you had it parked up since February?

On the front page of the WIKI there is a section that links to "New to FZR's" about basic things you may want to know.

The WIKI contains How To's on carbs & carb tools you can make to help you get it right.

The Search engine can help you find threads related to your problem to give you an insight to the things that most of us have been thro.

The spark plg leads fray where the screw inside cuts the core of the wire and gradually the core disintegrates and you end up with poor spark/ no spark.
He trimmed off the last 0.25 " and it all works again <BG>
