question about spllitting the cases

Post by racerd14666 »

the service manual shows take the cylinders and everything off before you flip the motor over and split the cases, but it there any reason why you have to or can you just flip the motor over and split the cases with the cylinders attached since im only gonna be working on the transmission. this head cold i got is keeping me from thinking strait i dont see a reason why i couldn't do it but just wana check before i break something

Nope, the hole damn thing has to come apart to get the tranny out. There are 2 bolts inside the crankcase that you can only access by removing the cylinder block and letting the pistons hang there.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Something is lurking, waiting, wanting to be built......It calls to me from the darkness....

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel....Then I realize that it is the train coming to run my ass over....

that would be why they show tearing every thing down, plus after looking at all the flaky carbon build up in the head and the dis-colored valves a tear down is in order anyways
