Have you tried starting in neutral?
I know you shouldn't have to but sometimes the planets align funny and swamp gas from venus explodes and the bike acts weird.
Chris.

This is in the wiki if you need it again.
Blue and red to starter relay,
Also going to the switch there is a blue wire that becomes unsoldered and usually causes headlight issues but I imagine it would cause starting issues too. But there is black blue and red to the starter switch. Hope that helps.
Chris.

would the stater relay cause it not to start with the switch but start with the solenoid

Re: kill/start switch prob...im new
im wondering if i splice into the wire that starts the bike, and run it to the solenoid, will it burn anything up without going through a relay??

Re: kill/start switch prob...im new
The "solenoid" IS your starter relay; the 'main relay' is part of the safety system that prevents you from cranking the engine over in gear with the clutch out and the sidestand down. I see no technical issues with bypassing the safety relay, but on your own head be it if you forget one day and the bike takes off down the street without you...
