Electrical question for the "experts"

Post by vmaxmike »

Just replaced a bad starter (solenoid) relay with a good used one off an FZR1000 (same exact part#) and bike started right up. The relay came with the red pos battery cable already attached so I decided to install it but noticed that its a heavier gage wire than the stock 600 one. Will using the heavier pos battery cable (from a 1000) cause any electrical issues down the road? (like chnage the resisitance or alter the charging voltage level slightly from stator to battery?) Thanks

No problem, bigger wire = less resistance..less resistance = less heat...less heat = good

Amen to that. I'll remember that when my solenoid decides to throw in the towel.
