What clocks will fit (400 frame / 600)

My 400/600 has 400 kmh clocks, if I changed these for 600 would it just read in mph without doing anything else? Also is this a straight swap and would any other clocks fit than the fzr600 ones?
thank you

know the cat(yzf600) will swap with fzr600
the thunderace(yzf1000) has the same exact rpm gauge circuit (inside) as the cat and it its about the same size, but i have not tried to fit between the two...
never had my hands on fzr1000/750 gauges but i think it would be safe to assume its not much different

T,
I would be looking to match the gauges to the bike's engine year & model, make the adaption oh so easy

any year thundercat(U.S. 98-07 yzf600) U.K. had a yzf600, but it was the "foxeye" fzr (read wiki) !!!NOT U.S. yzf600/R6!!!
it does has an extra dummy light for fuel... other than that all the wires goto the same spots and the speedo cable will screw in.
if you cant find one i have a bunch of 90's yamy gauge clusters in ~various conditions... still working on making my own gauge (its all about $$$)... we could swap speedo gauges by itself no case/cluster, it'd be neat to have a kph gauge... i dont think i have any clocks under 20K miles though, and i wont be home for another week.
[edit] i never had the gauge shroud ether. so when i say these other gauges fit, i mean, they bolt to the upper fairing cage and wire harness will fit. but again i dont know if other gauges will fit in the gauge trims...

From personal experience. The 89 - 94 FZR clocks are direct replacemets. The late FZR/YZF foxeyes spedo face is 'just' a little bit wider. It can be persuaded to fit the earlier clock binnacle by cutting off a couple of tabs on the face, but it will block out the backlight. The rear of the clock face is sprayed with semi opaque black paint, this can be (carefully) wiped off with thinners or rubbed off with fine wet n' dry (safer).
