OK I have a 97 fzr 600 From Bike Bandit they have an 89-96 fzr manual I believe a Haynes. For 1997 They only have a yzf600 or fzr600r manual in Haynes.
Im assuming I should get the 89-96 manual for the fzr600. Are there any differences from the 96 to97 fzr600? Thanks

Yes, that Haynes manual will be fine. You can also download the factory manual here (WIKI, I believe?). Other than the upgraded VR/R in '95, there were no differences from '93 and on. Here is a list of the main differences for the 3HE FZR600 throughout it's production run (one of my old posts from some other site that I hang out on... :whistle ):

'89 - 3.5" rear wheel
'90+ 4.0" rear wheel

'89 - 2-pot front calipers
'90+ - 4-pot front calipers

'89-'90 & '93-'99 - dual-headlamp
'91-'92 - single-headlamp

'89-'90 - cartridge style drop-in oil filter
'91+ - spin-on style oil filter

'89-'90 - box style swingarm
'91+ - Deltabox style swingar

'89-'94 - Old style, non-heatsinked regulator/rectifier
'95+ - New style heatsinked regulator/rectifier

'89-'90 - Lower radiator routing (to water pump) is a 2-part pipe / hose set-up
'91+ - Lower radiator routing (to water pump) is a single hose set-up

Also, at some point during the '92 model year production run, there was a change in the throttle bell crank on the carbs. This change requires that you make sure you have the correct push or pull cable depending on the carbs (don't remember which off hand).

Oh, that's right. I couldn't recall where I saw them exactly.

Hey Geezer,

Hint, hint... Why don't you throw in a few bucks? There is probably more information on this site regarding FZRs (and bikes in general) than you'll ever need so it's definitely worth it.

Thanks,
Brandon
