Well I know the widest tire u can really use and be safe is a 145 on a stock rim. I have an 1989 fzr600. I have a spare 99 r6 rim with an 185 tire on it. I was wondering if I would be able to fit it in the swingarm. I'm kinda leaning towards know but I wana make sure.
Thankyou

Hi,
This fitting wider wheels has been covered before.
Quickly you need to worry whether tyre will rub, chain lines up, brake caliper can be positioned correctly and that the wheel bearings will fit the axle
PS. might be an idea to put your location in your profile as these bike vary across the world

Don't believe I've ever seen a "145" or "185". On the 89 with a stock rim - you need to stick with a 140.89fzr884 wrote:Well I know the widest tire u can really use and be safe is a 145 on a stock rim.
Sure you don't have a "180/55" on that R6 rim?

Na, I had a 150 on my stock '89 rim. Fit just fine.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.
