OK so I read the nice how to on the fork seal replacement. Helped out BUT.
When I took the caps out it had a LONG spacer and the fork spring was only maybe a foot and a half long. Very short. Not at all like the picture.
Also the damper rod need a bolt head of about 7/8th size not the smaller 5/8th.
I didnt have anything that size to stick in there so I reassembled the fork so the spring would give pressue and friction on the damper and used an impact driver. This worked.
Also i didnt notice till after I reassembled it but I didnt see or at least they never fell out, were those little cups that go in the slider and are bolted between the damper and the slider base. Either they were missing or they just didnt fall out, maybe they were just stuck in there?
I'll be puttin in some fresh Yamalube in em tonite after work.

OH and FYI you can put jack stands on the on the front corners on the square down tubes where that cross section that holds the smog air stuff behind the header.
My GF said my bike looked like a pearl white walrus with glasses without the front end. And she said it better be ready this weekend cuz it really gets her, can I say that, errr, mmm, very moist ) when she rides it.

The fork spring is OR should be 415mm long 32 mm max diameter with aspring rate of 0.46Kg/mm if they are original springs. Max travel is 130mm.


The cups you refer to do not always come out if the bottom of the fork leg is not clean and contains gooey oil gum from over the years.Rinse them out with white spirit .
