Anyone have a GPS mounted?

Hi guys,
I'm trying to figure out a way to mount my Nuvi 255w. I had a RAM brake reservoir mount kicking around but it hits the metal surround when the bars are turned.
Does anyone here use the RAM stem base? Part number: RAM-B-342U

Thanks in advance for the input

last thing I want is a visual target that doesn't matter at all to the task at hand(actually riding).
I have a map on the top of my tankbag.
I cannot ride off the map between tanks, and my intermediate term memory is pretty good, so a good look at it whilst filling the tank is usually all I need to know where to go.
And, my radar detector(a useful electronic gadget) gives compass points.
Just my $.02, other opinions may vary.

I appreciate the sentiment, but I've had a GPS mount on all my bikes. I've never found it to be distracting.

I've seen people use them on more sport touring bikes like the Suzuki SV class and Yamaha FZ1/6 class because there is more room and your face isn't so close to the front of the bike.
There just isn't much room on the FZR other than maybe inside the windscreen at the top.
Good luck!

I made a custom mount for a buddy that runs in front of the tank cover and onto those two allen heads. It come up and splits and allows for a shelf to attach a softcase GPS case with clear front.

That sounds pretty neat, do you know the manufacturer & model?
