Well when my FZR is at idle with kickstand up or down doesn't matter, if I touch the rear brake then the bike dies or if I'm riding it & touch the rear brake it will pop the ignition fuse. So then I go to check the front switch which is unhooked... I hook it up & it pops the turnsignal fuse as soon as I touch the front brake. So I unhook both brake switches & I can ride my FZR with no problems except I have no tail lights.... anyone have any insight?
I have an new front brake switch I will pickup today, but I have a feeling that maynot be the problem...

Re: brake light & fuse problem
Both brake switches are (or should be) on the Signal fuse circuit (Brown wire), as are the Turn Signal Relay, Neutral & Oil lamps, Horn, Temp gauge, & Tahco.
With both switches disconnected you mean no Brake lights? The Tail lights are on the Headlamp fuse circuit.
If the rear brake switch is blowing the Ignition fuse, something weird is going on there. The rear switch could be wired incorrectly to the Ignition fuse (Red/White wire) Pull your Stop/Tail bulb's out and see what happens, I've saw bulbs that have blown, melted and shorting to earth inside the bulb. If the fuse/s still blow you probably have a short on the Yellow Brake light wire.

Re: brake light & fuse problem
Ok cool thanx! Now that you mention it I recall that where one of the tail/brake bulbs mount is melted a bit... It was that way when I got the bike & I replaced all the bulbs. I'll check the socket maybe it's grounding out or something...
oh & yes both the tail light bulbs work just fine

Re: brake light & fuse problem
Well I got her fixed! Found out that when I changed the wiring harness I plugged the rear brake switch into the fuel pump wiring connector & the fuel pump connector to the rear brake switch! Which explains why it would die when I hit the rear brake
Re: brake light & fuse problem
yeah now If I can just get a title for this damned thing I'd be even better!
Re: brake light & fuse problem
You've spent a fair amount of time (I remember your earlier posts) fixing her up. Be sure to upload some photos when you finally get on the road for some
Re: brake light & fuse problem
yeah I'll have to get some before pictures put up cause it's yellow right now, but it's not staying that color
