I've read that's the one everyone likes, but specifically which one? I've read its synthetic, it's conventional, straight 30, 300v.....
The only one I could find was Rotella T, 15-40. I grabbed a gallon. Will that work?

I've also read the posts here regarding clutch slips and oil type, the main point I picked up on was. Specifications JASO MA (which I did not know before) therfore could of had issues with a slipping clutch. The last time I changed the oil i used car engine oil, I must have got lucky. Won't be doing that again.
In my day synthetic oil was not available.
Good luck

I ran the Rotella in my FZR and until recently ran it in my GSXR; however, after the last Track Day I had in June, I will not run it again. I started hearing noises from my clutch that I didn't hear when I was using full synthetic racing oil.
I have since switched to Mobil 1 10w40. Sure it's $10 a quart, but it's cheap insurance.
If I were needing something for commuting, I might have stuck with the Rotella.

So the Rotella T I picked up is cool? I just want to try something different. I have had some slippage since I switched to Lucas and I want to rule out oil before I start getting into the clutch. I was using Valvoline VR1 prior, but they were out.

Yeah, give it a shot. If you end up going to the Track in hit weather, then I would suggest a full synthetic made for motorcycles specifically.

I'm using the non-syn Rotella 15W40 in my track FZR600 with no issues.

That could be the difference - the weight. The "synthetic" 5w40 that I used might not be proper for hot weather and high revving engines.

I just changed my Oil. I used Rotella T6. It's supposedly much improved over just the T. Anyways. No complaints bike still shifts fine, no clutch slips etc etc.

I've used it in all of my previous bikes...(1998 ZX9R, 2001 ZX9R, 1992 ZX7, 2006 ZX10R etc). They all ran perfect, never had any problems using Rotella T.

the blue 15w is synthetic, the white is dino oil
I ran the blue in my SV1000 and had no issues at a trackday, I run the white in my FZR600
the blue made my old FZR1000 shift harder

The BLUE is 5w and is too thin for Track Use, in my opinion.
