Hi Jim,

Any year 3HE 600 carbs will work. There is one minor caveat however - At some point during the '92 (IIRC) model year, the throttle bell crank design was changed. One design is such that both throttle cables are tightened down by a nut. The other is such that one of the two cables simply sits inside a slot. I don't recall whether it was the push or pull cable. A quick look at a couple fiche pages would probably sort it out for you (look for differing part numbers on the cables). Worst-case scenario is that you would need to acquire the proper cable (the one that's different of course).

Hope that helps!
Brandon

What makes you think they won't work? Mechanically, the 3HE 600s were virtually unchanged throughout their run.

From 94 on the only thing that changed on US 3HE fzr600s was the color scheme.

Ahh. This explains why my new push cable has no nut. I guess I'm going to have to find the correct one.

Yeah, that's a nice little known fact, eh? LOL!

The rubber intake boots DO indeed clamp onto the bottom of the carbs. That doesn't make them any different from any other year though. In this regard, all years are the same. It MAY be worth mentioning though that the intake boots on the 1WG 400s are aluminum (instead of rubber) but have shorter rubber "donuts" that clamp between the boots and the carbs. Also, the 400 and 600 carbs are both 32mm so... be real careful what you buy. I suppose it's possible that you may have been looking at 400 carbs (with the "donuts" still clamped to the carbs). It's unlikely (since they're a bit harder to find) but not impossible.

*EDIT* A quick, sure-fire way to tell the difference between 1WG 400 and 3HE 600 carbs is that the diaphragm covers on the 400 are brassy colored metal (aluminum?) and the ones on the 600 are black plastic.
