My lower cable came off somehow. Is it possible to re-install it without removing the carbs? Without removing the tank?

I see its possible. God, what I would do to trade my 2 fat hands for 3 skinny ones right now.

That does not look to healthy Del, you may need to re-set that IF possible or replace the cable entirely,
As for three skinny hands my two daughters were none too amused when I asked them to do it for me and the eldest had some very industrial strength language whilst she did it i have no idea her vocabulary was that good and I certainly have no idea where she obtained it from .............

. Yeah, it was bound to happen with 18 y/o cables. It wasn't too difficult once I got a visual. I used my left hand to open the throttle until I could see the hole, and my right hand to get it in. If my right hand was any bigger, it would have never happened.
