Another Brake Light Error

My voltage regulator recently blew out so I replaced it with a VR from an R6. Since then one of my brake lights is on all the time, and the other doesn't change when I depress either brake. Also my blinkers no longer blink. I'm not really sure what to do at this point. Could it be that I blew the main flasher relay? Thanks in advance.

Both the bulbs in the brake light should be on all the time. And when you press the brake both the lights should light up. So it probably fried one of the filaments in the brake lights. As far as your blinkers a fried Vr usually blows the bulbs. You can check your blinker relay if it clicks it's getting power. You can hook a voltage meter up the the wires after the relay and if it shows a change in the load it's working there too. You'd have to check the manual for the exact readings.

I should clarify. The right bulb brake light is constantly on, and the left bulb running light is constantly on. When I use either brake, the lights that are on don't change (left doesn't get brighter, right does nothing), and when I use the blinker both sides will go on, but then they stay on an do not blink. As for the blown filaments, I will check on Sunday. I'm currently about 100 miles away from the bike.

Problem solved! A combination of a sticky rear brake switch and blown bulbs turned out to be no big deal at all.
