Bike draining acid out of battery.

Ok so I have new havin battery problems basically since I got the bike. One day after about a 100 mile ride after the bike sat for a few hours it was totally dead. Wouldn't turn over. No power from the battery. Replaced the battery and all was good. Few days later I rode from SF to LA. Problem free. About a week and a half later, once again after about a 150 mile ride, bike sits and then won't start. Did some research, figured it was my vr, replaced with new. Bikes good for a couple weeks then I am riding on the freeway and the bike loses all power. Blown main fuse. Turned out to be a blown vr. Replaced it with a xs400 vr. Slightly better than the fzr one. Little bigger and has some cooling fins. Bikes all good again. About 2 weeks and 300-400 miles later, battery is dieing again. Once in a while I can smell the battery acid leaking (awful rotten egg smell). This battery lasted atleast a month and over 500 miles.

Could this be cause by anything other than the vr. Replacing batterIes and vr's once a month is pricey. Any hints? Whatever the problem is it's draining all the acid out of the battery.

If it is the vr, what would cause them to keep going bad?

Would have been a good idea to post this info in your previous thread, viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6464 and not make a new thread.

You ignored my previous advice, so no more will be offered.
