fzr 600 with fz750 engine?

does any1 know if a 88 fz 750 engine will work for the fzr 600 i found a fz 750 engine cheap and wanted to know what it would take to put it in my fzr 600

Are you sure it's an FZ750 and not an FZR750? As I recall the last year of the FZ750 was 86 The simple answer to the question is no as it's not a direct bolt in. If you are an adventurous fabricator then you can probably make it work.

im not sure the guy said its a 88 fz 750 he has the complete bike with title its just in peices im gonna get the whole thing for 300

Well if the motor has a radiator along with and alternator on it it's an FZR motor 750 or 1000. FZ's were air/oil cooled

After spending 5-10 min flipping back and forth between the parts fiches for the '88 FZ750U and the '88 FZR750RU, there are a number of differences - things like front forks, calipers, spark coils (but not TCI boxes!) etc. The Cali FZ actually had different pistons from the non-Cali FZ (which had the same as the FZR).

Both have the same block, both are liquid cooled.
