Hey guys sorry i havent been on in a while. I was heading up to Clarion PA and was run off I-80 near Dubois By a tractor Trailer. I had one of 2 options lock up the back tire and slide and go down on the concrete or try to put it down in the grass on the median. So i went down in the grass doing about 70mph. I didnt really get a good look at the bike before i was carted off to the Clarion hospital. The bike is in a dubois tow yard. So i still havent got a good look at it. I tryed to start it after i got it back on its wheels and it was flooded and sounded like my fuel pump was running constantly. Seems that one of the handle bars is bent out of place and my wind screen is broke. along with a mirror. No idea when everything else looks like.
Me on the other hand i was stupid i was wearing my helmet and my joe rocket riding gloves other than that i was wearing a whiet beater and shorts. It was extremely hot. I ended up with some nasty lacerations and some road rash and i have 4 stitches in my knee. I feel like lucky to be alive. Suprised i didnt get hurt worse than i did cause i hit the ground doing 70. and i flew/rolled about 50 feet.

I point and laugh at every rider I see in shorts and a wife beater. Any related injuries are your own fault.

. Onviously being cool is more important than keeping your skin.
On the other hand, glad you are alright. You got off lucky.

FK,
well you are still breathing which is a plus.
I am sorry you were hurt but I hope you have learned your lesson, dead bodies are cool !!! to the touch, go get your bike out the yard before it is rusted solid or robbed of parts.
If we can help putting it back together with parts or questions of what you should do you know where we are.

At least you had your helmet on. There's no helmet law in PA. I've seen bikes stop at the border from NJ so they can take their helmets off.
Idtios.
Glad you are relatively OK.

Thanks for all the reponces and concerns guys. I was trying to keep cool with now jacket or jeans on. I wasnt trying to be cool. I overheat very easily Due to a medication im on. It wasnt that i was trying to be cool or be a squid. 99% of the time i wear all my gear but that day it was in the 90s and i was all ready sweating just standing around and stuff

www.tourmaster.com search the draft air jacket. I've ridden with it on in the 105's. All I could get was the black one too. But long story short is that when at the stop lights it's not most comfortable, but once you get moving it's just like nothing at all.
Chris.

I own the ICON contra jacket/armour, it seems to keep pretty cool as long as you take the liner out, also keeps warm in the cooler months

C,
that and the Bamboo Clothing long sleeve T & long johns, are about the best in 90 + heat as far as personal comfort goes . I could sympathies with FK as I have had to have meds that play havock with your sense of temperature you feeel as though you are burning up & you ooze sweat but in fact your temperature is normal.. FK do you find that the Meds make s your perspiration smell strong and does not matter if you bathe 4-8 times a day, my wife had the consultant at bay until he changed it so I no longer "as she put it smelt like a ram goat".
The bamboo although a little pricey on some stuff is absolute magic under ordinary leathers even when the temp is 70-80 degrees no sticking leathers and no suff under wear. wonderful If you want a discount look in our archives for "underwear" for the bikers discount code

I've done about 2k in my new Tourmaster Venture Air pants.
They have two removable layers: a thick, insulated one and a thinner, water resistant one.
The outer layer is two layers of heavy mesh, which lets plenty of air in.

What worries me about the "mesh" is that they are banned at most track days & races.

humm... thanks for the heads up.
I can imagine that though. I always wear my carhartt's under them, partly for protection, and partly so I can pull of the gear when I get-where-i'm-going, as the pants are rather big/bulky.

Damn , glad to hear you are ok.
I know it's a b... riding in +90F. I have a Joe Rocket jacket which works great while moving. If I'm stuck at a light or in traffic I start to sweat.. I've seen a vest somewhere that you can put in the freezer over night then slap on you..like under a jacket and keeps cool for 4-5 hours.
P.S Did that SOB even see you or stop to help? I'd like to have a "talk" with him

I go over the washington crossing bridge, pull over, take it off and do the ride up to New Hope.. I know its wrong but i still do it..
Fizzerkid- glad you are ok! it's stupid not to wear gear.
