Hey, I'm installing a KOSO RX-2 gauge. It has two temp sensors. One oil, the other coolant. Here is a pic of them. They are about 1/2'' wide brass fittings. Where would be a good place to start tapping?

There was a new thread within the few days about installing an oil gauge and where to install the sender. Search. As for the coolant sender, check around the fill neck and thermostat housing. There are a few places you could conceivably put a sender.

I was thinking of taping on the fill neck but then thought that it would probably crack.

The filler neck would be an unsuitable location imo, plastic don't conduct heat very good, low coolant level could therefore give an inaccurate reading (low reading, when infact the engine would be hot?), also it's thin, so yes it could crack, i wouldn't trust it fitted there. Best position would be in place of the original sender in the thermostat housing, or very close to it. Every temp sender i've seen are located in the region of the thermostat.

The "Aftermarket Oil Pressure Gauge" is in the WIKI.

I was able to remove the stock temp unit, and the threads were the same from the new unit......lucky

The Pressure gauge write up in the WIKI is not what I am looking for. I am looking for a place to add the temp sensor. There is an allen Key plug right ahead of the view window for oil on the bikes right side. I am wondering if anybody knows what that is? If nobody knows what it's for then I'll just open it up next oil change.

I don't think the bike has a engine oil temp sensor stock that I could replace with this unit???? Anybody know?

if you want to know the "true" oil temperature surely having the sensor being in contact with the oil as the pressure gauge was mounted would be the most suitable ?

That i believe is for fitting an external oil pressure gauge, to test the oil pressure. I've read something about that plug before, think it was in my Haynes manual.
