Rearwheel questions
Some questions about my 1990 FZR-600...
I have find a rear wheel ( 4.5" x 18" ) from an 1992 FZR-600 and are planing to buy it for my bike to be able to put on a little bigger tire ( 150/60x18" ) instead of the 130/70x18" tire
My question : Can I use my old swing arm and still put on the new 150/60x18" tire ?
...or must I also get the rear swingarm from the 1992 FZR600 ?

Re: Rearwheel questions
You'll need the spacers from the 92 setup as well. Otherwise everything else bolts up.

Re: Rearwheel questions
Actually, according to lying bastard Yamaha parts site http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx, parts 16, 28, and 29 are in fact identical between the '90 and '93. What's really odd is that the WHEEL has the same p/n, excepting only the paint code.
Are you sure the narrower one is the '90?

Re: Rearwheel questions
1989 --> 1990 had 3,5" rear wheel.DonTZ125 wrote: Are you sure the narrower one is the '90 ?![]()
1991 --> 1999 had 4,0" rear wheel.
And I want to put an 4,0" rear wheel on my 1990 FZR600, But will it fit in the swingarm ?

Re: Rearwheel questions
I think only the 89 had the smaller wheel. The 89-90 had the less braced swinger I believe, but I thought they fixed the wheel after 89.Lasse wrote:1989 --> 1990 had 3,5" rear wheel.DonTZ125 wrote: Are you sure the narrower one is the '90 ?![]()

Re: Rearwheel questions
Well you don't have to measure the wheel. It's stamped on the side of it if it's 3.5 or 4.0.Lasse wrote:I have measures my rear wheel and it clearly is 3,5" wide.thatkid wrote:I think only the 89 had the smaller wheel.

The difference in the space between the two wheels is taken up by the spacers though. That is the only difference. People that have done the swap have said all they needed was the spacers from the corresponding year of the wheel.
