Hi Guys,
one of my fork stanchions is pitted and is leaking badly , needs replacing for the MOT ,I was looking round on ebay for a replacement , but £100.00 for one stachion ??
I managed to locate a NOS full fork leg for £80.00 , which i thought would be a dam sight easier to fit than stripping the fork and putting a new stanchion in,
But my issue is ,can you see any riding issues with one fork leg been brand new and the other worn 31k miles , the bike been well maintained , full service yamaha history.

I have not fitted it yet , but i dont know whether to fit it and see, or take the stanchion out and just put that in the old fork leg

your thoughts please

cheers
Al

it would depend on the spring in it you might get an uneven bounce and might cause a problem i would get it and rebuild the other on later

Better off stripping the stanchion out, and rebuild the old leg IMO.

Agreed

Should cost you a lot less to do it as well.
