Hey guys, just picked up my first sport bike yesterday :headbang: I had to put a new VR in her and new headlight bulbs and yadda yadda, but she runs and rides like a dream! The only problem im having is the rear brakes dont work at all! The seller said to bleed them, so me and my bud sat there pumping and cracking the bleeder and fluid would seep out, but the pedal would never get any stiffer?? Im leaning toward the master cylinder, but from experience it should build at least a little pressure?? I think i need a bleeder pump and do it the right way.

the pedal won't get stiff.

crack the bleeder while holding light pressure on the pedal and before the pedal reaches the bottom close the bleeder.

they are notoriously spongey, though.

Well i mean we did that about 5 times, pedal just feels like mush and you can push the bike with the brake fully engaged :ermm: I think there is just alot of air in the system, because the reservoir was just tucked away laying on its side not mounted, and I heard it takes a while to get alot of air out of the system. When i had the bleeder cracked i hit the brake to see if it was sending fluid and it sure was, squirted strong so that's a plus, even though i probably introduced more air into the system :whistle

Not sure if my rear brake ever worked... never used it. The rear brake, to me, is simply there in case the front brakes go out...
