Steering damper mod

Hello. I'm new to this board and just picked up a -92 FZR600 to use on the track only. I think I've been able to find all information I need to get it ready except one thing - steering damper. I cannot find any dampers specific to this model but came across the following over at fzrarchives.com: "Essentially though, if you have the fork tube clamp, a piece of aluminum bent in a 90 degree angle with two holes drilled in it will do when bolted to one of the front fairing cage mounts."
I have searched and searched but cannot find any pics or how-to's for this mod and don't quiote understand the idea. Can someone please share or perhaps send a link with more information? Or perhaps suggest a universal damper that would fit in front of the steering head.

Many thanks in advance.

I found a new Daytona damper on eBay for cheap. It came with the fork tube clamps and everything. Since the air tubes are cosmetic and rather useless I removed the right hand side one and bolted the damper in it's place.

Plus, I could easily adjust it while at the track...

Here is what I did:

Thanks a bunch. What length is that damper? I suppose any universal damper will work mounted in that location.

I think the actual body was 10" or so, but yes, most will work.
