I've finished everything, all of the little electrical problems are fixed: head light low beam, horn, left turn signal, brake light. Painted everything that needed painting. BUT, it still doesn't run. Everything should run fine according to everything I've checked.

Engine:
Checked valve lash, within factory specs
checked timing
didn't check compression, no reason for the bike to not have compression, everything ran fine before

Spark: (98 escort coil pack mod)
coil primary resistance, within ford stock specs
coil secondary resistance, within ford stock specs
voltage entering coil pack, within ford stock specs
spark plug gap, 0.54mm is the stock gap, mine is 0.5mm
spark will arc 1/2 of an inch maximum!
considering that there is a spark, that rules out there being a bad pickup

Fuel: (04 YZF600R carburetors and fuel pump)
fuel pump works, pumps a lot of fuel
carburetors have been overhauled completely
**I had to melt back a crack in one of the diaphragm covers
**fuel is 4 months old..I'm going to get new gas anyway and see what happens

haveyou tried dumping a little gas right into the cylinders maybe use a spray bottle and spray it into the carbs while cranking to see if you have any result

i see you used alot of the yzf covers i have 2 questions is it a fzr engine and did you use the stator cover from the yzf i dont know if they would fit but i thought it has a different timing to it so if you did use it that might be the problem. just a long shot idea

Several people have mentioned that the YZF and FZR stator covers are NOT interchangeable. Sufficiently off timing => spark + fuel + compression = dead battery and frustrated owner... banghead

thats what i thought. which is why i asked if he put it on cause he cant find out why it wont start. thought he might have thrown it on not knowing. everything seems fine so i though a long shot cause he used the other covers

yes I have tried dumping a little fuel into each of the cylinders, nothing happens, I'm using the old fuel when I do though, hopefully this weekend when I have time I'll dump out the old gas and put all fresh gas in it

and no I don't have the YZF stator cover on the bike, only the peanut and clutch cable cover, they have been on forever now, one of the first mods I did. I tried to make the stator cover fit since I had one, had issues, so I just sanded and painted my stock one
